Id1000 Fuel Econony

My stage 1 PW cooler jst arrived from my group buy... yay. I was jst about to cut the cat out, put a new pump and some ID1000 jectors in. I had been told previously that I should be able to get similar fuel consumption providing Im gentle on the gas. However I was talking to someone today who has put the ID1000 in. He said he wouldnt do it again for a daily driver. Round town he said his fuel consumption has gone from 12.5 up to 16l/100. He reckons he would just stick with standard injectors and tune for 280rwkW.

I'm currently getting abt 12.8 in start stop traffic. Abt 430/tank. I think 16 would be a deal breaker.

Any experience from guys that have put them in before?

I think he needs to modify his throttle usage or re tune.

Ive got old school deka 60's and get 12.7 on E10, 12.5 on BP98 making 352 rwkw in a Bf

ID 1000's are fine mate.

on the highway 8 to 9 l/100km around town averaging 17 l/100km I drive with a heavy foot that's with all bolt on, FPR 1200 regulator and fuel tube making just shy of 400RWKW

For starters, it is really hard comparing different peoples fuel consumption.

I have tried 4 different injectors and I found that the Nizpro 700cc drilled injector seems to give me the best fuel consumption. There are injectors that will use more fuel in normal driving parts of the tune.

I have come to the conclusion that although you might see a fuel ratio number on your a/f meter, it does not mean you have that a/f ratio in the combustion chamber.

And please someone tell me how your tuner can improve your fuel economy. If he butchers the tune he can make it worse, but not better than the factory tune.

The factory tune is rich from memory and most basic mods reduce restriction increasing efficency (better power and economy)

You are getting confused. When it is said the factory tune is rich, it is talking about high load open loop parts of the tuning map.

In the closed loop sedate driving parts of the tune the engine will run at stoich and even if the calibration is slightly off it will trim to stoich. So it will never be rich cause it runs at stoich in closed loop operation.

So please someone tell me how their tuner improved their fuel economy.
