Does anyone know if an AU throttle body will bolt onto a BA turbo engine?

Are the throttle openings the same size?

Can a BA ECU control the AU idle valve?

I'm chasing a few dramas on an engine conversion project. A cable throttle might be the way to go.

To elaborate on what Jet said, BA's don't have an idle controller because the ecu just actuates the throttle plate to maintain idle. A lot of features in the BA ecu are based around throttle position (fueling etc), if you took that control away by using a cable TB nothing would work...

If you wanted to use a cable TB, you would have to run a full aftermarket ECU.

I don't know about sizing and bolt pattern.

You can run a cable throttle body with a b series pcm. It is alot of work to setup property tune wise but it is possible.

Throttle position is derived from the tps so as long as the correct tps is installed and feeding back to the pcm the actual method of actuating the throttle body doesn't matter. (once the tune is currently setup)

Going to a cable throttle would only be viable in race applications that require it, because as stated above you will loose idle control and all throttle based engine control parameters.
