Yeah diff bushes, and maybe check shaft play of turbo.

Take note of how the tranny shifts and maybe even check for the dreaded milkshake.

If the car is stock and has had regular oil changes, then there's nothing of significance I can think of based on my experience.

Sometimes the turbo side engine mount can go at that amount of kms...but that's not a deal breaker.

Even the diff bushes are not a deal breaker, but you can probably bargain the car down by $500 if you can pick that out.

Don't forget to check the body and make sure panel lines are straight and clean, and that there hasn't been any respray activity due to accident.

Hi mate,

I'd be looking out for the following; (Boost is pretty much on the money)

Check coolant level and condition

Check brake fluid and condition

Diff bushes, mounts and other linkages

Check camber wear on the tyres as they do wear inside

Check panels for damage and see if they line up - Look for overspray in the doors, engine, boot etc from a respray

Check the belts/pulleys for tension

I'd be looking at the colour and condition of the oil

If possible check the turbo for shaft play - Either back and forward or side to side

Feel for brake shudder or other irregular vibrations.

Try to drive it from cold and when it's warm give it stick. You need to see how it responds.

Front timing cover - common and expensive to fix...

Also check log books in person and see who has owned it before you. Also look for the spare key, wheel nuts, check spare tyre etc.

Hopefully that helps you mate...

Good luck!

Dan

Good posts so far. Couple things to add.

Oil colour isn't very helpful depending on the oil - mine is dropped at 7,500km or so and is pitch black every time. I've read it means the oil is doing the job of trapping the bad stuff. If it's lumpy oil then you have a problem :)

Also a tiny amount of play in the turbo shaft in both directions is normal, but we're talking like half a mm side to side and a mm or to in and out I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it's how much mine moves and it's 140,000km old.

Yeah good point Steve - I guess the cleaning agents in the oil should discolor it to mean it's keeping things clean.

And a small amount of shaft play is normal :spoton:
