Just got an email from JB saying the 6 and 6 edge are now available if anyone was looking

edit: NVM - checked the link and it says "Awaiting Stock"

Makes the subject of the email a little dodgy:

I went into my business cell store today, helpfull girl tells me they have just recieved the demo models, do I want to try it out- hell yes!

The edge is a nice looking ph if your into gimmicky stuff, but the 'normal' S6 is the one im interested in.

Cleaner look to the layout , less bloatware apparently too. Battery and GB storage are sealed at factory ala' iphone.

Gorilla glass front and back with the alloy frame, very different to previous plastic models.

Overall I was impressed, ive had the S5 for a couple of years now, so time for a update .

I asked her about costs re. GB size, and edge v S6, about $300 dearer for the edge, and $250 jump from 32Gb to 64Gb.

When she went to ask the boss and he saw me with the phone in hand he said "oops, not meant to be shown for a week yet- dont tell anyone."

Yeah right.

Anyway, ordered the 64GB S6 in gold platinum. My S5 was white and had lots of black phones so I thought I would give gold a go. $1250 ($600 off that for business plan)

Interestingly the demos were both black but looked dark blue in certain lights.

Delivery in a couple weeks aparently, we will see.

Thought I'd revive this thread as I'm contemplating a new phone. Toying with the idea of the Galaxy S7 Edge. 3,600mAh battery and 5.5" screen...wondering if the rounded edge screen will annoy me after a while though :ermm:

I've spoken to Fluff about hers, what's everyone elses thoughts and experiences? Anyone got an S6 edge? How have you found the edge screen?

Have you got a cover on yours Fluff? Does that impact the feel/size of the edge model too much?

I have a fake ebay spec copy of the $60 samsung see through flip case thing. The edge doesnt really do much.....just looks sleeker.

That is the annoying thing with cases, you forget how pretty and thin the phone is. The edge also means cases are more limited also cant buy screen protectors (cause doesnt curve)....that is why I have the flip case

See, I kinda like the idea of a wallet case...coz if going out I don't need to take a wallet AND phone, just a couple of cards in my phone case...but then my phone doesn't fit as nicely in my pocket and that'd probably just sh*t me even more. So yeah...rad.

If I had a case that protected the edges alright then I probably wouldn't bother with a screen protector to be honest.

Honestly stripes I looked at the edge for about 2 mins when tossing up between it and the std s6 and I felt it was a wank and the screen edges would get annoying. already felt my fat hands doing random touches on the edges within minutes. They could/may have fixed it with a patch creating a dead zone on the edges I dunno. Have a good play in the shop I guess. Hardware wise apart from the screen same same

It's more the extra battery life that I like the idea of. The edge bits I feel are wanky more than anything, but the extra screen size and battery life are more the reason I'd consider the edge.
