Originally I was just going to install line level converters before I did the smart thing and actually look at the amps to see they both already have speaker level inputs. Does anyone know what these connectors are called and where to get them?Plan is to run 2 amps in the rear which would mean splicing the wiring under the dash and running speaker cable front to back to front for the front speakers, are there foreseeable issues in doing this? Also where do you guys run the cable? I was thinking along the passenger side of the trans tunnel as its far away from the main rear loom that runs down both sides. Since all the wiring loom is out already I was hoping to take the output directly from the ICC, but I notice on my premium ICC I picked up it has an additional connector, can I tap directly from this / does anyone have pinouts for the BA ICC?Finally what do you guys strap your subs down with? Dont want mine flying around when my dual vct kicks in and are just running a Kicker CVT12 slimline sub so its small and not too heavy. But I can't find it on any Australian sites, the seller might post to Aus if you ask them. I'm surprised the amp didn't come with any? If you bought it from an audio shop you could always go back and ask if they have one laying around. If not the you could always solder some wires directly onto the pcb (what I'd do) or you'll have to get a line level converter.I'm assuming you're sticking with the factory ICC. If it were me doing the install I'd pick up the speaker level input off the rear speaker somewhere for both amps, then from the amp run the speaker cable down to the kick panels where you hide your crossovers for your speakers/tweeter then tap the speaker wiring in the kick panel also (I wouldn't run aftermarket speaker cable through door harness that's a huge pita, just use the factory wiring). luke187 Member 297 Member For: 11y 2m 22d Posted 14/09/14 08:36 PM Author Share Posted 14/09/14 08:36 PM (edited) Thanks lads. I installed the amps previously in other cars so those connectors are long gone. I am sticking with the factory ICC as I want it to look clean, I thought about putting a head unit hidden somewhere but too much drama plus eventually im going to do a carputer so the last thing I want is 3 audio devices. I used to be an audiophile but now I just want something that sounds alright having said that once I install it I'll probably fuss about the sound lol.If I pickup the rear speaker for both amps wont I lose balance control? Any idea on what the speaker wire colour is in the kick panel? Edited 14/09/14 08:37 PM by luke187

BTW those connectors you want are called JST plugs, I have a few at work but unfortunately they're only 4 pin. If you want to make it easy you might be better off getting line level converters. I'd tap off fronts for both sub and front speaker amps

Just means more cable lol (which also means more chance of noise). A quality AMP these days should be able to filter out most of the noise before the signal is even amplified. You're removing the already noise inducing stock cable length from the equation. If you make your connections behind the ICC and run the cabling under the centre console and carpet to the rear cargo area you're miles from any other noise sources. If he has premium audio (as stated) then he can take the input line level of the factory amp harness for his aftermarket sub/amp (I think the factory amp may even take the input level from the rear speakers already) Edited 15/09/14 02:43 AM by RB Snake
