I just purchased an 07 bf mkii xr6t and was looking at modding it.I'm not looking to go extreme, a mate of mine has suggested to do the following;- bigger intercooler- turbo back exhaust- injectors (not sure which one)- some sort of air filter/steel pipe (not exactly sure what he was saying, something along the lines of crafting it himself as he says its easy )- finally a tune upI apologise if I sound like an idiot but yeah its my first turbo car as I just got my full licence. Are these mods safe? Will I need to change the valve springs, actuator, fuel pump or anything for the matter if I decide to go ahead with these mods? Like I said I'm not looking to go all out on mods simply due to budget constraints. Cheers guys any help would be greatly appreciated, oh and its an auto, was going to get manual but was convinced to get auto due to the ZF gearbox. I'm not just being a crotchety old bastard.Decide on what power level you eventually want and save for the the supporting hardware to save on re-tuning costs.. You will need to ensure that basic services on key components on the whole power train have been done. ie lubricants, filters etc etc to start with the best base you can. Ks and service history will determine whatmay need to be done.Use the search function as there is 12 years worth of info on here that will answer most/ all your questions.Do your research and find what suits and what you need to further considerSpeak to the tuners in your area as there are plenty of different combinations and packages available.Remember mods are just not about power. The car has to stop and go around corners as well. One thing you must budget for is that there is no guarantees on "safe"You play be prepared to pay

Hint...forget about number one if you want to have fun in the car for a decent amount of time Got my own '07 here, up to 240,000km and still rips it up hard! Got a new turbo under warranty at 100 thou (just before I modified) and rebuilt ZF and valve springs/timing chain etc at 200,000. Also some wheel bearings along the way, not to mention bushes.Enjoy! Mersin Member 43 Member For: 10y 4m 16d Posted 11/09/14 08:52 AM Author Share Posted 11/09/14 08:52 AM Yeah its just I'm worried about modifying it and breaking something else along the way just wanted to cover all bases. I do everything myself or well try too and try to use the best materials, oils etc for my car (had a Late model camira previously that I looked after as best I could). As I said I'm not looking to go 350+ rwkw, just want a bit more power then the stock. I picked mine up weekend that just passed has done about 170k, what problems should I expect at this mileage?
