I want to modify but don't want to spend lots of money if necessary. I was thinking about just getting a tune done and leave the rest of the car stock. Do you think it's worth spending the extra and getting all the injectors, pump, intercooler and exhaust done. Money wise for the power gains is it just best if I stick with a tune. Also what will be the difference power wise between just a tune or tune with all the extra attached. Thanks

Budget ?Consideration for other bits, no point going quick if it doesn't stop or go around corners ?IMO opinion if you are on the hunt for more power it is best to save for all the hardware and getthe lot fitted and tuned in one go. The piece meal approach will cost you more in the long run.due to re-tuning costs.A tune will give you a good increase however it will push the standard components if you take it to the edge.My advice is to speak to some tuners and get their feedback. First decide what you want the end point to beBTW PS do a search, heaps of treads on this topic, will help you make a decision/ pov Edited 05/09/14 12:26 AM by Buf-Phoon

Like Buf-Phoon said you need a goal in terms of a power figure. If you think you'll eventualy want to do more (most likely), do it all together and save some money, or do the things you can do without a tune than save your coins for a tune and new parts. For example, I'm doing turbo side, and stage 2 cooler and piping, than when I get more money, do injectors, tune and exhaust. Also again with Buf-Phoon you would want to be careful how you tune as the stock parts will be pushing it (Especially stock piping kits). Like always though just give your tuner a call up and have a chat, Have a goal in mind though!

Have a chat to a tuner and see what they recommend, from what I found some will tune with your stock intercooler, others will prefer not to. When you're running a higher boost you're going to run the risk of busting the stock piping. If it were me I'd do it all at once, and do it properly. Valve springs is something else you'll need to look into replacing at some stage too

I just want to get as much out of the engine as possible for the least amount of money haha . Obviously I want it to be as safe as possible as well. Instead of doing everything if I just get a 4inch dump pipe with hi flow cats and an intercooler and then get a safe tune well that be the best option without changing the injectors and the pump. Also with the tune and those parts should I have The boost at around 11/12. I will put up some photos later Edited 05/09/14 02:59 AM by shooterg6e

If you can't afford it all at once definitely save the exhaust for later onIn terms of boost, the tuner will set it depending on the supporting mods you're getting done, just remember any boost over stock is going to run a risk to your intercooler piping, all comes down to what peace of mind you want Edited 05/09/14 03:25 AM by xr6tman
