Gday So I'm wanting to discover my options regarding my BA motor and how to get it up to spec to typhoons motors. Will I need something like this ...

out of a bfmk2 turbo or perhaps a whole engine or just build rods and pistons. I'm particularly looking for the most cost effective approach. Thanks

There are plenty of low 300Kw Ba's around. If you can handle a few less Kw stick with your BA engine, if it goes bang replace it with a BF engine.

My understanding of the differences between the two is rods, pistons, timing cover and ecu. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Guys, do BA's have one or two knock sensors?

From memory If putting a fg f6 short in a b series. B series sump needs to be used, oil pickup needs to be moved which requires re torquing a main cap. Dip stick needs to be tapped in a diff spot on the block and an engine mount needs to be moved.

There is a great thread on AFF about installing an fg block in a b series.
