DIABLO New Member 10 Member For: 12y 7m 17d Posted 01/09/14 06:24 AM Share Posted 01/09/14 06:24 AM Have an Fg XrT with 6 piston brembo upgrade on front.Standard rear brakes are now looking terrible behind new Vertini 20" staggered setup and require immediate attention!!!!!! It is a 08 xr and the rear brakes are puny at 298mm I think. Anyone upgraded to something larger????And will the brembo 4 piston rear fit behind my new rear wheels that have a huge (4 odd inches) lip??Options/opinion is much appreciated

This is a pretty good setup and given the fronts do most of your braking you might as well save your money on the 4 pots, and these give you a decent upgrade over stock. The GT comes standard with the large rear caliper and 4 pot brembo up front.Hit up race brakes Sydney, they'll sort you out with the rears! Territory upgrade should be more than enough.I am really only doing the upgrade for the aesthetic appeal. It's only a street car with occasional back road blast.I have genuine brembo disks up front and will have to ask the guys at Race brakes what disk looks closest to the the original. You might wanna give him a buzz sooner rather then later, I think he's only got about 4 left in stock, he's been running a big special. At least give him a call and go from there.

I'm sure they will be able to find a solution to your braking needs.Actually I just realised that sounds like an advertisement. But they are great to deal with. I have never received better customer service from a automotive specialist.

I'll grab a pick of the rear tomorrow. But if size and looks is a concern I'd look at 4 pot rears. Single rears look a bit odd. Better, but still odd. I was advised against going for 4 pots on the rear as utes suffer from pad knock off. A sedan should be fine.
