im on my green p's and have a xr6t but im in WA my first car was a VT S Late model camira and regret buyin a T had some scary situations with it so now I drive like a Nana so would suggest getting N/A XR. but I have to say the laws in NSW and VIC are a bit stupid coz that means p platers can drive a porsche boxster N/A 165KW and cant drive a smart car turbo which is 95KW and also cant drive a VK SS 177KW but can drive a VZ SV6 195KW which doesn't make any sense. if you ask me governments should do there homework.

Actually you can drive a smart, it's exempt.

For the insurance reason alone you'd be made to get a turbo on your P's if it's illegal where you are. Just think if you were to hit something pricey like a Merc....

Hi guys the Mrs is preggers and the only two cars we have is my full-time work vehicle and the other is my F6. Hannah is on her green p's and the F6 is a prohibited vehicle for p platers. She needs to drive it as shes due before she can get her full licence.

She may need to drive it, but is not allowed by law, plus your insurance will be useless in the event of a prang. Not worth it mate, for her future driving and also on you and your F6.

The law will just say, "well you could have sold your nice FPV and bought something more suitable".

Your best bet would be to fill in a "Exemption form for High Powered Vehicle" which enables P platers to drive a V8 or Turbo powered vehicle for situations where they have no other option or access to get to places.

You can download this form from the Vicroads website or you can grab it from your local branch.

Your missus and the doc needs to fill it out and once all the necessary processes have been dealth with you should then receive a response within 2 weeks.

My missus got a exemption to drop and pick up the kids from school and shes luvvin every bit of driving a T on her p's :werd:
