18 years old .. 200+rwkw car .. next to no experience ??

dont do it.

I was lucky enough to be sitting behind some kid on red Ps in a VS commo yesterday going through roundabouts in the wet.

yeh .. going sideways is great fun.. but you can really tell the inexperience when you see it first hand. the kid almost went sideways into a car because he couldnt correct fast enough.

listen to everyone elses advice. buy a less powerful car.. do some skidpan days, track days, driving courses, and drive a sh*t load on the road in all conditions.

last thing "I" want is to be collected by some wank who thinks its cool to take his car sideways, yet has absolutely NO idea what he's doing.

hey lads,

im about to jump onto my red p's

and I am willing to run the risk in order to enjoy myself on the XR6 turbo.

is it as simple as de badging it, and dealing with insurance in that its in say my dads name and im a nominated driver?

cheers

When your done for driving a prohibited vehicle you will also be done for not having your P plates on. De-badging wont fool them, the T's have a few other things, other than a badge that makes them a t, and there not all under the hood. Go get yourslf an N/A.

I.B.

Hi all,

many thanks to all that have taken the time out to respond, I think I have been diagnosed with 'watching to many xr6t flutter videos on youtube', and I apoligize for not really thinking before I posted.

having said that im weighing up my options between the N/A XR6 and the impreza rs, however im leaning towards the xr

upon purchase of the N/A xr6, what mods do u guys recommend to give it that little bit more oumf about it.

cheers.

im in the s/e suburbs of melbourne.

A little bit MORE OOMPH??? just on your reds just one word for you WANKER, didnt you read any of the posts above, glad you live in melbourne not sydney that way you are not going to hit me! Im sick of "P" platers getting hold of high performance cars and driving like they own they own the road....No experience....... bloody dangerous... they should be made to do some advanced driver training before they get their P plates.

add a turbo (haha kidding), seriously 190kw (or whatever it is) is still a lot of power. it wasnt that long ago when v8's had that much power.

mate, I just got my full license. I have also had my n/a xr6 for about 6 months now and let me tell you , theres nothing more that I want than to get a xr6t. But being your age, and restrictions there is no need, and by the way, its just a car. you can still only do 60, and in your case max 90. If you want a car with the looks and some grunt, get a n/a xr6, expect to pay 15 to 20 for a decent one, drop it a little and add some rims if you want (imo the stock mk II rims look schmick). This car has got plenty o' grunt and its a decent comfortable car to drive. Just every time you get behind the wheel, think to yourself, im only in this car to get to point B, so no f*cking around. Its not worth it.

Or save your money and buy a house, I wish I had of.

Buy a big dirty turbo diesel patrol or something on massive wheels and crank the boost in that, my mates made like 240rwkw or somethin stupid, was insane fun to drive and be a passenger in. Drive over big sh*t, go up hills and have fun that way for the next 3 years then save some coin and buy an fg xr6t when your allowed to drive one. Whilst driving over big sh*t in your patrol build an unbreakable xr6t block that you can throw in an xr, after all your got 3 years to build it :buttrock:
