I see 2 stupid things

1- 40k loan

2- Turbo on his P's

Tell me about it.

He is the most clueless person I have ever met, what could happen to him? I mean can he even register it? and what happens if he gets busted? He said hes going to take off the turbo badge

I cant say for vic but I live in nsw, am on my green p's and own a ba xr6t when I got it I installed a black lower grill wich all but hid the cooler and pulled off all the badges. I wont be as easy with the fg as the cooler is a bit more pronounced.

I first bought the car and didnt have an exemption (do now) but never had any trouble from the police.

registration wasnt a problem insurance however wouldve been in excess of 4g a year.

the fine/penalties for driving a restricted vehicle in nsw are 7 points (instant disqualification for 3 months) and $475 fine, seeing as though anyone willing to do this will drive without p-plates add another 2 demerit points and $220 will most likely result

edit: it seems odd that you would post something on a forum for a "mate". are you the person intending on buying a xr6t on your p's and not willing to cop some flack for it?

I think if he smashes the car insurance wont cover it because he isnt suppose to be driving it in the 1st place.. 40k is a MASSIVE dept in that situation

Its legal if done legally.

My bro is 18 and buying an xr6t, hes going about it by

1 Registering it in business name

2 Insured through broker, full comp $750 a year, $1350 excess

3 Carrying a piece of paper with company letterhead signed by CEO and himself

4 not driving up chapel at 3am

1: If they let him register it in his name which I doubt noone will insure it

2: busted = loss of licence, any cop worth his paycheque will know regardless of the badges being removed

3: borrowing that much money for a car is insanity

4: driving a turbocharged 6 cylinder car is not something to be taken lightly even I underestimated just how powerful they are, your mate could very easily write it off and even if its insured under someone elses name im pretty sure they can refuse to pay or try to under the grounds that he wasnt legally allowed to drive it

Refer to above, easily insurable if you have the means, which if your loaning 40k you gotta have some sort of clue.

2: busted = loss of licence, any cop worth his paycheque will know regardless of the badges being removed

Do it legally, exemption, work ute etc. Exemption laws are farely relaxed, ring vic roads and see for your elf.

3: borrowing that much money for a car is insanity

Why, if you can afford its your choice. what about people buying anything new, GTs depreciate faster than they can accelerate

You cant get a 40k loan on a car without having insurance when you leave the caryard, which cancels these points out.

the bank wont give out 40k unsecured.

And there not that quick stock, fast, but not so much that there unsafe. whats the difference between my wife that doesn't know squat about cars getting in my T and a P-plater, unless your about to brand every p plater a hoon

Theyre fast enough for someone with two years driving exp to wrap up that's for sure Henz, not calling all P platers hoons that's just innuendo on your part. If you want to reccomend a 19 year old at the oldest borrow 40k for a second hand car then be my guest, imho its insane.
