Surging

Hi guys, I have a little problem with my g6et. When I accelerate reasonably hard I can feel the car surging a little.

It has minor mods, growler induction, id1000 injectors and a f6 intercooler.

Just replaced the plugs tonight but had made no difference, also it runs pretty ruff in the mornings.

Any ideas.

Thanks

^^^ Matts first question......

If you mean that the revs go up and down by a cupla hundred while the car speed is constant, check out this thread....may help http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/89011-zf-revs-fluctuate/

If you mean that it's doing it while the car is idling, it may be time to take it to a tuner to get them to check it over on the Dyno.......

Post some more info about it please.

By surging I mean when I accelerate hard, say a freeway onramp the acceleration is not smooth when the car reaches around 100-120. This is not noticeable under normal driving, just hard acceleration.

The car has 285rwkw and I use 98.

Only really noticed the surging in the last couple of months but it has ran a little rough at cold start since the tune and mods were done, about 18 months ago

Take it back to the tuna and smash him in the face with your tyre jack. You serious?! you can see the problem on the dyno graph ffs! I can't believe he even let it out of the shop like that!

Sorry for being a dumb are, bit of a novice with this stuff. So the flat spot on the graph is what I'm feeling then. Feel like such an idiot.

Would this be a problem with the tune or a mechanical issue then.

Getting ready for a cat and bigger intercooler then I was thinking of getting mick to tune it this time. I hear he's pretty good

Sorry Ron, I do appologise for that. Late night post and think I was a bit cranky. No need to feel stupid, that's not what this site is about, more about learning & assistance.

That graph isn't smooth. All the line work between the dots should be nice splined arcs. This looks like it's getting to boost and then not regulating it well. I also wonder if the tuna has experience with 1000's as it could be fueling up too much. If I'm not mistaken, I think these people may be more Expensive Daewoo experts too. Take it to a ford shed, they'll ge it running right.

Again appologies for my last post, but I can't think they should have let it out of the shop like that

Where abouts are you located mate?

50 Cent, don't stress your going off at the tuna not the newbie...

But yeah you really can notice on the dyno graph

The stock fuel pump would be fine at those levels so its gotta be in the tune. or something mechanical he wasnt willing to fix
