It also makes a loud whine sort of like a super charger haha. Is this problem common? My car runs out of warrenty in couple weeks do you think it could be replaced under warrenty? boost69 Donating Members 737 Member For: 19y 6m 7d Posted 27/08/14 12:22 AM Share Posted 27/08/14 12:22 AM Yeah they should replace the pump under warranty.Though usually it's one of the power steering hoses that leaks at the connector.I had to replace mine once on the BF when it was out of warranty, and the genuine power steering hoses cost more than the power steering pump. Not loose or anything and its turning the pully ok. mainly just wanted to check if it could be a warrenty fix because if its not if rather fix it myself and not have ford rip me off. My power steering pump has started to die 2 years later - but I did change the fluid a couple of times in between...I put it down to the 303,000km on the thing.
