+1 for hylomar... Always use it on any head gasket I ever did at work (diesel mechanic)

And I have seen decks a lot worse than that seal up nicely, just make sure your stone is flat!

Turbotrana, Hylomar is a non-setting sealant, it goes "tacky" but is never meant to dry hard. I bought the aerosol can one from Bursons. They had it in stock and a it didn't cost that much(can't remember).

The "M" can is what mine looks like:

Spoke the the engine builder/machine shop about the pitting and they said to use Hylomar. They even use it on freshly machined parts.

+1 for hylomar. If it can get range Rover head gaskets to stop slobbering it'll work a treat in you application.

My father drives an 83 classic, it leaks... :P

A stock Ford MLS with no sealer will not fix anything. MLS really need a sealer IMO.

The stock ford gasket is a single layer steel gasket. I'm replacing it with a Multi-Layer steel permaseal gasket. I'm hoping more layers will mean more give and assist fill the gaps.

I've just picked the head up. They said everything was fine and only had max 4 thou of warp.

Looks like you have left yours to long, the head gasket may not seal. Just get the block decked. Or you maybe pulling the engine out again.

Just say it, you told me so...

So my leak is back, lesson learnt. I'm in the process of stripping everything down to take the block in for a skim.

One thing I wasn't expecting was this:

Bad port
