Rear Of Car Swaying On The Highway

Hello gentleman,

So after getting the 3 diff bushes replaced (with new superpro) on my recently purchased 07 BF2 XRT at Sydney suspension. I noticed that I still have a problem with the rear of the car, I was hoping it was due to bushes but apparently not.

Before getting it done the car had the obvious worn diff bushes and the sound that accompanies it. But additionally, it would sway whenever I go over bumps.

Now that the diff bushes are done I notice this swaying even more. Especially when on the highway. The best way to explain it is, there is a side-to-side fish tail sensation from the rear of the car. It's feels as if I'm towing something and it's slowly swaying the car from the back. I should also mention that you can only feel the sensation, you can't hear anything when it's actually swaying. It's very pronounced at speeds above 90km/h.

I didn't realise I still had this problem until I hit the highway an hour ago, given I only got the bushes done yesterday.

Was wondering what you blokes think is wrong with it. Is it common?

Cheers

Ed

did the suspension place comment on anything ,would have thought they would have had a look at most of the bushes anyhow .they may even just forgotten to adjust something ? but it does sound like a warn bush or something that has not been tightened up

Hey mate,

Would definately get the fella's at the shop u got to fit the bushes to give the rear a good look over or get a pedders $14 check. Particular area's I would check are rear sway bar rubbers and rear link pins...

There are other thigs which can cause this but this is where I would start! Good luck mate

I had this once and I think it was fixed by having rear wheel bearings replaced. About 200,000km on the car at the time. Already had super pro bushes for a while at that stage.
