Hey guys, just noticed while driving today that theres a noise coming from the rear of the car.

Cars on 09' series 1 xr6 turbo.

Sound isnt a loud thud or hitting sound but more along the lines a light chime / ting.

Noise isnt constant and appears to happen on take offs and when speed is reduced.

Looked under rear and couldn't see anytgin hangin or loose but it was after the sun went down I noticed it.

Anybody had this before or any ideas??

Had a quick look in boot last night but couldnt see anythin, it hasnt effected drivability or the performance of the car so I dont believe it to be anything major, just annoyin as .... Will check handbrake idea after work and see

I fixed another members car a couple of years ago, it had a faint metallic "tink" when crossing bridge joins or ripples in the road.

The handbrake shoe spring in one side had broken and was tapping against the backing plate.

grab the exhaust tip with a leather glove or rag when it's hot and give it a good wobble around. Could be some of the heat shielding being a pr!ck as it does...
