na mate there is nothing more to this story .and yes I have phoned them about 3 times about my issues , that I believe the car is slow .it has no bottom end power and no top end power ,what else is there to this story .the time sheets of my ute prove that there is something wrong . and all I get of Lee is that I can not compare apples with apples ,every car will be different .this engine used to run a 12.334 second before I swapped it over into my car .it now has a rebuild turbo ,flapper mod and hot side piping , bigger exhaust and a rebuild btr gearbox ,it also has 3.9 diff gears with a truetrack locker .and it ran semi slicks at the drags and ran one second slower than before . to start with it has better gears for take off ,better breathing due to the hot side piping kit . it has a 6 plus 6 turbo wheel for faster spooling up ,and it used to have a 2 1/4 twin system and now up graded to twin 2.5 inch . and now it runs a best of 13.357 . and Lee has said that that time is good for this ute (standard ba turbo run about 14.300 I was tolled ) so that makes my ute slow for the mods I have done to it ? or am I wrong . ps when I had it tuned by them I said that I want at least 301 rwkw but they refused to tune it more than the 284 rwkw .there name is on the line if it blows .fair enough ,but it lacks bottom end power . I am not saying its there fault ,but they at least could have said that the reason its not performing is , valve springs ,injectors fuel pump ,etc .but they mention t nothing at all and send me home .it felt like when I was there that they were not interested in my car at all .it felt like they thought it was a sh*t box and just wanted it out of there shop

as you can see I am a person that takes pride in there car .this ute started out as a xt ba 3v v8 ,and I swapped over the running gear and all the wiring ,etc .I spend over 5 month and $11000 building this ute (not including diff ,paint ,exhaust or labour ) ,and now it feels like I wasted all this time and money due to RDP not wanting to put a little bit of time tuning this up to what I would have thought they would .even a midd to high 12 second would have been fine .Peter the dyno technician even said on the day that it should run about a midd 12 second .so maybe now you can understand my frustration .even some of my mates after I have taken them for a spin lough at me due to that I should have just fitted the boss engine in this and it would have run the same times

Wow!

Excuse the double post,

Nice car!

Nice workmanship!

Such a shame to go to so much effort and be back at square one.

I've been there, I've been to 3 different tuners who all screwed me over and emptied my wallet!

Moved onto a new one and couldn't be happier.

Where are you located exactly? Surely someone is Close by who has a good relationship with a good tuner up that way and can help you out.

I've seen a lot of good cars come from rdp but no ones perfect.

Who done your port job and fitted the actuator?

the port job got done by precision turbos in Sydney . I also got the flapper mod looked at by Joe at cms in Sydney ,and his reply was that it was ok to use .I fitted the actuator my self and set the pre load as well. the flapper mod may be one of my problems ? take a look at the gap ,it wasn't a lot but might be just enough to give me the lag that I am feeling from the car .just thought two reputable turbo shops said it it is ok to use ,so I did .

yes it may be the tune, but my comment was to warn the op to expect more cost than just the tuning cost if there is a mechanical issue.

This is a perfect example of why letting one shop do it all can sometimes be better value, as it becomes their responsibility to get what has been promised

I totally agree with you ratter ,and I have just tried to do all but the tune myself .and yes I might have stuffed up .got the info from forums and just went the best and cheapest way to I could find .the wreck all ready came with a nizpro cooler and some of the piping (cold ) it had injectors (green bosh 440 )and nizpro valve springs ,and a walboro fuel pump 500 hp ,a 100 cell cat on standard dump ,cold air intake ,etc . hope you can understand I am not made of money ,and I wanted to be able to say I done it all my self .this was my first attempt to build a car .I only had a double garage and trolly jacks and stands

Don't get me wrong, my comment was not a dig at you at the slightest, I was trying to use it as an example.

If a customer came to us for a package to make XXX rwkw and we did all the work and it did not perform, I would feel it was on us to find out why and then take it from there.

If there was a mechanical issue with the car, well that becomes the customers problem, but if there was something with the parts we supplied and fitted it becomes our problem with no added cost to the customer.

When a customer comes in with a package they have done themselves and all we had to do was tune it, well if it does not perform it can start to get costly trying to find out where the issue lays.

na man I know ,and this was a big learning curve for me . I enjoyed the build ,even the ups and down with it all .and I know just how long something can take when something is wrong . have just found the time sheet of the wrecked car that I got the engine out of the 60"1.740 330 -5.122 1000-10.324 1/4 mile 12.355 mph -112.26 180.67 k/mh now that was only 6 month before the car got written off (about 5000 klm ) the 60" mark is like .449 better than mine ,and that is with 3.46 diff ratio .so if I would have the same ratio my 60"would even be worse .lucky I have better gears 3.9 for take off

the thing was the engine already produced about 43 rwkw more than what RDP tuned it to
