Ok my tune has been going fine but the auto has been a but crazy.thought I'd reflash the zf. Went into custom tunes, got two bta tunes one is high boost (that's what I'm running) the third tune said auto tune or something. So I click that and it the. Asks if I want to skip some download thing, can't remember. Anyway I click download. It then downloaded for about 3 minutes to 100%. Then it said " unlocking ecu" and sat there for like 5 minute doing nothing. Then it said failed to download.

Now each time I put the xcal on the car it says " error 1034" download failure detected. Return vehicle to stock if it worst start. Well the car stats and sounds ok, but I haven't driven it.

I thought I was just turning the zf not the engine. Ummmm what should I do. I haven't taken it for a drive yet, just idled it.

It's a bta tune but I'm in Darwin so I can't take it in. I can call them tomorrow but not sure if I can drive it into work first.

Cheers in advance.

Turn the car off for a half hour, return the vehicle to stock tune then load the tune you want.

Have had it happen to me twice now - no matter what you try the car needs a good half hour of so before it will let you return it to stock.

Seems to happen after a couple of recent flashes when loading in the TCM (the transmission tune - the bit it asked if you wanted to download)

I think (will need confirmation) that when this happens and it locks up the car will still be tuned with the previous flash and safe to drive - I'd wait for confirmation first through.

Thanks for the reply mate. I drove it into work no worries and contacting BTA now. I assume that by returning it to stock it will clear the error in the Xcal and allow me to retune again?

Have you tried returning it to stock after letting it rest for a while? (it's a different icon on the Xcal - not under the one you goto to load a custom tune - I think it's on the main/first screen)
