It depends on if your SCT tunes have a modded TCM file, a full read inlcuding the trans tcm was roughly 20mins a pop. Not so bad if you only have 1 TCM tune, but I would be doing a " read entire" both modules for each tune just incase your tuner has made any changes to the TCM

The write time for PCM and TCM with HP is quite impressive!!! Very fast.

Rollex, you still have not stated what you are doing. Are you intending to learn something about tuning yourself or wanting to know which software is best for my tuner to use.

The problem with SCT is that the Tuner has basically got you by the balls and will ream you in the backside at every opportunity.

Hp Tuners just gives you more control. Its a great product and once the scanner gets done will slowly become the tuning tool of choice in years to come.

I've noticed that Tuning workshops really hate HP Tuners because of the fact we can copy SCT tunes and it takes work away from them. The reality is that we just look at their tunes and laugh at their yr 10 logic.

Sooo I found the HP forums which a few of you guys are clearly on and some of my questions were answered there

Is the FG zf still only able to be unlocked with the 2.25 beta or is there a full version released? This tuner might not have gotten the beta for some reason (probably hasn't asked for it)

Also I might be mistaken but is it possible to get the trial version of HP, and load my SCT tune file to look at it? Seems like HP allows you to read a SCT file

And you think you have the skills and correct tooling to beta a professionals tune ?

There is a reason why sct is limited to what you can do and sounds like it suits you ;)

Yeah I'm with jet.. It's not as simple as run down the 1/4 and change the timing and run again..

Most professional tuners won't charge much to 'improve' their own tune (ie: you take it back and say you aren't happy with some factor.. They will tweak it)

I'd say HP Tuners is the way to go also. You wont have a locked tune, you can alter parameters you are comfortable with and you have a forum you can ask questions.

There are plenty of guys who just learnt to tune on their own. Peppy is an example. He just plods away at it and does well

People should be allowed to detonate of over-fuel their cars if they wish. Me I use a tuner. Drive in , drive out, all good.

HP Tuners isn't the sort of product you should buy if you are focused on short term results. you need to look at sticking to it long term and a continual process of learning and evolve. The $1000 for the software/hardware( think its actually cheaper now) is the tip of the ice berg, then there is another $800 give or take a few 100 for a a knock detection device of some description. a good wideband which on the cheaper end of the scale can be $300 and up towards the $1000, these are just the basic ones, you get into the $1000's for a really good one.
