Timing at max boost/revs --- 28degrees would you believe

Its a real sleeper. I got it for free as it was bent in an accident but you couldn't buy cheap intercoolers back then. It was like $2000 back in the late 90s for a custom intercooler and $500 for and 044 fuel pump. That was alot of money back then.

Needs brakes and a few other things done.I reckon 1000rwhp now is the old 500rwhp. Getting married and kids has put a stop to heavily modifying cars for the last 10 years but planning to resume the passion.

turbotrana Member 2,586 Member For: 21y 8m 14d Gender: Male Posted 15/08/14 04:41 AM Share Posted 15/08/14 04:41 AM I got the Yella Terra head quite cheap. $1200 at the time when they just came out. I put probably 30-40 hours of porting ports, chambers and inlet manifold and whilst I was relatively green to porting back then, I would still take the meat out where I did looking back.I used an EMS duel sport with wide band lambda built it, Lucas 550cc injectors, bosch 044, VK fuel injection manifold and a steam pipe turbo manifold I TIGed up.I did upgrade to the EMS 8860 when that came out which has the ability to give you an average of the airfuel ratio for each load point. Its the best feature when tuning.Alot of work in that engine. I have tried to break it (not relentlessly but many hard KM at high RPM) but the HQ racing pistons nor blue motor rods (preped with ARP bolts) never let go. An aluminium flywheel and heavy B&M balancer really helped the harmonics in the crank dept.I have always been a fan of the straight 6 and one reason why I like the falcon 6 so much. Very easy engines to work on and get good power from.
