If tuned correctly can you still give it stick on a 30c day without worrying about doing a head gasket/over heating? My skyline used to get a beating on days seeing up to 40c without issues but I know this is not always the case so just want to be prepared. Coolant was about 2/3 I think. Just another reason why I had no friction material left in some of the ZF clutch packs at the 200,000km box rebuild hahaha Edited 25/08/14 12:50 PM by -Stever-

( Plazmaman, same. ) PW stage 1 kit is a pretty simple fit and mine required no cutting. I like it because you still have the factory cross-over so it looks "stock" for the roadsides.Fuel pump is a must and there are good drop in kits now. ID1000's or KPM for injectors. The large injectors work really well. The stock cooling systems on these cars are pretty good unless you want to beat the hell out of it on 40+ degree days - and if you do, there are improved cores available. I think PWR do one and I know a custom alloy unit can be had in WA for under a grand ( sounds a lot - but what was being offered was top shelf)Waste gate porting - this one always seems to be a vote either way. You will go over 300 at the treads with the stock waste gate but by how much is the question. 320?Weight. A BF manual with 1/3 tank of fuel and spare etc in it went ~1650 KG on the weighbridge at the tip.Clutch - I use the option 3+ Ace version and like it.Anything with 160,000 + k's on it is going to need a good look. If you have to do the valve springs it is time consuming and maybe at 160+ . . . .might be worth doing.Bux. the clutch and cooler will run ~3500 with freight. Injectors..750? Pump 300 -500 ( depends on the kit you buy). We are at ~5K now and have not touched the exhaust, air box, valve springs or waste gate.

BRK Member 361 Member For: 12y 10m 26d Gender: Male Location: Perth Posted 26/08/14 04:31 AM Share Posted 26/08/14 04:31 AM The core on the stage two kit is larger 500 x 360 x 80 versus 420 x 360 x 90 and you lose the under battery pipe which gets a lot of criticism for restriction along with some of the length of the stock intake tract. It looks logical to me that the stage 2 kit offers better performance.
rollex Member 683 Member For: 10y 5m Gender: Male Location: Australia Posted 26/08/14 05:05 AM Author Share Posted 26/08/14 05:05 AM (edited) Yeah I guess the question is at what point would the smaller 420mm one no longer be efficient, the plazmaman website says their 500x350 one is good for over 380rwkw where as the 470 is good for up to 380 so it sounds like it would be fine for up to 350 which is about all I think I ever will want. The over the bonnet cross over pipe definitely makes it look far more modified though, $1680 vs $1k, not sure if it would be worth it. I've already got a K&N filter on the stock airbox, at what point does this become a restriction?http://www.processwest.com.au/products/ford/ba-bf-products/stage-1-intercoolerhttp://www.processwest.com.au/products/ford/ba-bf-products/stage-2-intercooler Edited 26/08/14 05:06 AM by rollex
