I've heard of quiet a few running pre turbo

Changes the compressor map

Makes a 3576 have similar top end to 3582 but it is far more fiddly to get right

Correct if the injected water isn't vaporized correctly

And pre turbo also turns the intercooler into a heat sink for the water hence why I'm going post turbo

I only have the Snow old stage 2 kit, the flash new ones (aswell as the AEM) have a low and high flow tolerance to interpret both kinds of failures (restriction and leakage) and can be used to trigger a multiple of outputs, on aftermarket and Dizzy type situations you can change use it to retard the timing. But On our cars if you wanted a failsafe you can run a solenoid on the small ID boost reference line that goes to the blow off valve. If either of these conditions occur you can have controller switch the solenoid state and remove the pressure reference to the opposite side of the spring in the BOV, this would increase the pressure differential and create a major boost leak and drop the boost pressure right down and hopefully save the engine. I believe they have all sorts of bells and whisles etc on the controller to raise the alarm.

For me it's about exploring all possibilities .

I have plenty of time to research and if I'm left with any doubts then I'll tread down the well worn path taken by others.

Like I said it's the wife's car and I need to keep it sane!

I've been running 94 E10 in it with no issues.

But I've already caught her putting 91 E10 in it a couple of times which I wasn't happy about. She drives off boost 99% of the time anyway , but when I get in it with it loaded up and towing a trailer full of dirt bikes I'm gonna have issues.

So I need a safety margin!

Yes I've tried to explain it to her but she gets confused at the pump "there's so many choices and they've all got different names"

It's not like the old days where you had Regular and Super!

Then u should leave it stock and buy her a yaris

Would u let her drive a XB GT with 500hp at the fly if u knew she "might" not put av gas in it like it was tuned for ??? Phuck no ud be worried if she even looked at it

Same with these cars, if its tuned its making over the power it was made for and then closing the gap that it was left for in regards to people chucking in the wrong fuel in it

True story ;)

^^^yes I know what your saying is true and I will eventually get thru to her.

And it will be staying stock for at least the next 18 months.

But there's no reason I can't start putting a plan together in the meantime.

I'm doing a lot of reading on this forum including your tuning thread Jet which is very helpful.

Electronic management is abit different to carbs &points !

My car (BA Typoon)will be the first to have anything done and yes I put 98 in that.

From my understanding so far you can have more than one tune loaded , so I'm still trying to learn the pro's & con's of that.

Sorry but you guys will just have to bare with me while I adjust to the new world.

And as always THANKS !
