Well back in the day before intercoolers this is how they got temps down.

Disadvantages if your pump fails or are out of water and you gun it can run too lean or to much advance and blow up

But controllers nowadays sit in the car and let you know the second something goes wrong

Its a waste of time (it did have a place with iron headed draw thru carby applications where we had little control over timing). Used to use alot 20 odd years ago with 50:50 methanol:water solution. Too high maintenance and why bother when you can get 500rwhp just on 98. When we went efi back in the mid 90s there was just no need anymore. E85 is a better solution.

It's great if e85 ain't available or you want 91 or 98 economy with the power benefits similar to e85.

Plus it steam cleans your internals getting rid of any build up.

I will be doing a full write up on it when I get my kit for Christmas and I will be running straight water :)

Water / Meth injection before the throttle body adds around 50kw, keeps the intake temps low it was on an episode of Horsepower TV few weeks back they tested it. Quite interesting.

The ford turbo 6 community is pretty behind with this.

They use it religiously in the states especially with high hp diesels. I remember my brothers tafe teacher had a diesel hilux with 100ishrwkw with a t04z and had a basic water meth kit on it (I'm talking a compressor hooked up to a paint gun welded to intercooler pipe and a switch in the cab to turn it on) and when it was switched on it went 250rwkw. Ever since then I've wanted one

I think if you have an XR6T and it's strictly for street duty (like my wife's car)and you don't want crazey power, just enough to have a little fun every now and then, then this is worth exploring as well.

What I would like is it to pretty much appear stock including intercooler, stock exhaust from cat back, run E10 and be a reliable daily driver for my wife.

I only drive the car on family trips really.

I haven't done any research yet but am thinking you can get away with the stock intercooler using water meth injection on a safe tune.
