Farrows in Nambour done mine ,and after a test drive all he had to do is put a washer under the centre bearing to get rid of some minor humming at high speed . and it worked ,no problems ($700 )

I probably could of looked around but after speaking to the arrogance or Hardie Spicer to then speaking with Chris at Gibson who was more then happy to listen to my ideas, work with me and offer a professional opinion.. I was sold regardless of the price..

It's the same as the first time speaking to Kevin at Process west, he knew his product, he backed his product and had data to go with it..

We'll soon find out I guess

Nice stuff Veva, looking forward to leaning on mine aswell...

The gasket and fire rings are made by Ridgecrest engineering.. Then machined by Steve Hambridge at Advanced Performance Machining in Smeaton Grange

I got a Gibson 1000hp tailshaft fitted about a week ago

Had a fair bit of vibration under load, spoke to Joe yesterday arvo who mentioned they have had to shim the centre bearing 5mm down in utes before

As CMS are flat out I told him I would sort it out, turned up a couple of spacers from round bar and fitted them

Haven't done any hwy driving yet but driving home from work yesterday and back in this morning seemed to be an improvement - could be imagination though

Also been raining so plenty of other noise, especially with sideways movement ;)

Spoke to Joe again this morning and I will try say 7.5mm and 10mm spacers and see if any further improvement

If no go then it may be the shaft itself, though with the equipment Gibson has got now as mentioned above it's doubtful

No doubts about CMS customer service though, nothing but good things to say there

From what Chris said to me, he supplies a 15mm washer for the centre bearing, but no two Falcons he has done have been the same.. I will be measuring pinion angles when I install mine
