Just be careful with nason gear mate one fella just had a tensioner fail on his TBRE motor lucky it did not stuff the motor jumped timing chain. If you have the coin mate go atomic timing chain as its a lot heavier duty then any other out there, atomic tensioner, atomic crank chain sprocket and atomic chrome moly guide pivot. I went all atomic timing gear for piece of mind mate. By the way I have the same rods as you and did not do any mods to them.

Yeah had a set of acl race series bearings and a set of atomic acl mains with 360' thrust motor builder said no real need for it as he can modify the original 180' one to go in with new one to make a 360' thrust. Funny how the atomic 360' thrust I got is made from stock acl bearings not the race series bearings so have a couple hundred bucks of bearings here not being used lol. He used the race series bearings. I'm not going to be going a glide or th400 to really worry about it having any problems anyway.

Hmmm it would be devastating to say the least... This has been mentioned to me before, we have compared them and the guides look identical, the chain has the same markings and links as factory, the tensioner does look abit on the cheap side and the oil feed is smaller then factory... Surely there aren't too many factories out there that make chains? And to what specs? I've never seen an atomic one but Brad has to get them made somewhere aswell?

I know atomic develop some great products but even then everything he develops he has to get from somewhere? I've been to his shop and was disappointed to see a small, clean, half empty unit, I was expecting to see, motors, and lathes, and CNC machines, in a big not dirty but used looking shop?? Where does all his products get made?? (Not having a stab, just curious)

My dad is an old wog, he is very humble and definitely not arrogant but he also believes that anything you can do, I can do it better.. Which he still amazes me with, hence taking on this whole project ourselves... This is the first time he has played with one of these motors, so we are yet to find all of its weak points, we have addressed most of the basic points of the engine but obviously can't find the weaknesses of things like the pump and timing set until it's under load, So basically R&D is needed... I guess this is the only thing separating someone like Brad from my father, it takes Time, money and tools to develop a product, it's hard to convince him that I can just buy a product that is already on the market and be done with it haha...

I think I'll get in touch with brad tomorrow and just purchase the gear because I'm realising that I am my own Guinea pig at the moment and I can't afford to loose this motor because I cheated out on the timing kit

Good hustle guys haha

Wise choice well worth it mate when spending all the time any money to have a couple hundred dollar part fail and destroy a motor would be heart breaking.

Nason stuff is average and this build deserves better.

If you already have them then once you get genuine you will feel the difference and be glad you made the choice.

The 360* thrust is for high stalls/transbrakes but it will serve a good purpose even in your car with the intended use....you can do the mod yourself just look on Youtube and type in Atomic 360 degree thrust.

Did you opt for the larger washers for the head studs also?

Peppy go the atomic chain mate. I just pulled down a LS3 with a broken double row roller chain, if they can break what hope will a single row chain have when hovering around the limiter?

You may have more mechanical sympathy than this driver but it can happen.
