I thought you must have got em mixed up with B series bearings. I picked up a replacement pair already.Luke I'll check the bolt size when I swap them tomorrow. Its a 15mm and looks same size as the calipper braket bolts. Also I'll post up a video of me free spinning both front bearings. Both are pharked and sound like they are dry inside. LHS sounds like something is broken inside it as well. Neither of them have any play in them though.40000kms oem units which have done 30000kms freeway driving. Built Ford Sh!t haha.

I first noticed a noise from the front about 2000-3000kms ago each time I turned the wheel, turning left I could hear a metal on metal grinding noise (similar to worn pads dragging).Passenger side: Driver side: I'll put up some pictures and videos of the new units fitted up as a comparison. I was not able to find much info here on FG front hubs/bearings so I'll post up some pictures for anyone who may be interested or have the same issues.Remove wheel, unbolt caliper from spindle and put to the side, remove brake rotor from hub and you are left with this.Remove the ABS sensor from rear of hub held in by single torx screw, remove the 3 15mm bolts that hold the hub to spindle and after a clean it should look something like the pic below. Removing the hub bolts was pretty easy with a 40cm breaker bar and deep 15mm socket, just needed to turn the wheel to give room to get to the bolts. The old and new hubs side by side. Replacement hubs are Repco part number RWH6130.New hub fitted up. I torqued the bolts up to 126Nm as per the suspension spec sheet linked in first post. Was a bit tricky getting a 50cm torque wrench in the wheel arch (doing it on garage floor) but enough room to tighten the bolts but turning the wheel which allowed access to all 3 bolts. As soon as I pulled out of the driveway and drove down the road there was less noise from the front even in a straight line, turned left at the end of my street and whisper quiet. Few laps around the block and all is good. Drive to work this morning the doing 100km/h on fwy and the car is defiantly a bit quieter so the old bearings would have been contributing to what I thought was all tyre noise. As couple of comparison videos.

Nice work mate. They shouldn't be flogging out at 40,000km...the car was not under warranty?

I also feel better having done it myself

Was actually chasing a clunk on cornering but it wasn't that. They said the current ones looked fine and did I still want to go ahead, I said do it anyway and upon driving the car with newly installed hubs/bearings I too experienced a reduction in noise. It was similar to tyre roar, but a bit higher pitched.Good on ya installing yourself though, I don't have a 300Nm torque wrench for the B series centre nut and even if I did doing it up that tight on a garage floor would be interesting. There is not much chance of making 300nm no matter how big your wrench is, you'd need a massive pipe on the end to get the extra torque from the length of the lever, rather than the force you exert on the bar.
