Hey Geea, Looks great! How much did the bulge cost when you got your repair work done? And I don't mean what a bulge would cost me at Kittens either!

Out of curiousity, what happened with your sound deadening/heat padding stuff under the 6cyl bonnet? Are you using the 6cyl one, or are you just not using one at all?

The auto repairer used the old padding it was still ok. After I picked it up I had a look at my dealer and it appears that the GT/XR8 bonet doesn't come with the padding. It attaches good there are only 3 plugs under the middle where the bulge is that dont plug in. I think I'll keep it on as I think the temperature under the bonnet might do nasty things to the paint if it wasn't there. Professional opinion on that would be great.

MS700 would you know if there is a lining available for the GT/XR8 bonnet?

looks sweet! do you have any more appearance modifying plans?

Really, it looks sweet

The only other apperance mod I'm contemplating would be regarding the badges, not sure what yet just thinking about it.

I paid the difference in price between the original bonnet and this one, its from Ford. It cost me an extra $1000.00 :banghead:

I just ran out and looked at a freshly delivered Pursuit, and no, bonnet padding free.....

They dont list one for the XR8/GT either.

Will be interesting to see if your padding "sags" if you know what I mean, due to no clips holding it up near the bulge. Keep us posted!

Geea,

have you noticed any temperature changes with the bulge providing more headroom over the engine etc?

Thx,

Miyagi

Anyone looked into carbon fibre FPV/XR8 replica bonnets?

Was reading a thread on fordforums.com about them. Would be a hell of a weight reduction for the BA.

It does look good :smilielol: but I've always been a fan of the bulge.

Looks great Geea,

You have to love the bulge - how can anyone not (inc LS1/HSV boys)!!!

Now stay clear of those trees and power poles mate.

Happy motoring.

Cheers. :nuts2::nuts2:

I'm driving much more carefully in torrential downpours now. When all that flooding happened in Kew and else where. I had to drive home and I swear I didn't go over 55kmph all the way home. I would have been too embarressed to talk to anyone here or elsewhere if I stacked it again less than 36 hours after getting it back. :pinch:

Geea.
