I bought my car without actually seeing it in person. You lose the ability to pick up on the small things that may affect how you view the car. When I got my car it had a scratch down the side, the dealer sent me a pic but it was a very forgiving pic. Marks on headlining. Chip in windscreen. Also the brakes squealed like a bitch which I hated and later on I found out the dealer was a c¥#t and wouldn't even give me the time of day to speak about the issues.

But I still have the car 4yrs later so it wasnt that bad.

There are companies that will handle the process from inspection to payment to delivery to the transport yard.

I bought my F6 from Queensland. The seller was very well know in the QLD sporting Car scene and was traceable through his employment by a gov agency.

I paid by direct bank transfer an as it transpired the payment actually cleared after the car had left so he was as trusting of me as I was of him.

I would recommend whatever car you settle on you get the rego/insurance/logbooks and spare key(s) shipped over by the seller by registered post separately to the car.

I found most where quite good as long as you're up front.

I drafted a simple email along the lines of-

"Hello, is the car still for sale and areyou open to offers on the car? I'm in Perth and I'm looking to find the right car and ship it back. My budget would extend to $XX,XXX subject to inspection. If this would work for you please let me know, if not thanks for your time and good luck with the sale."

(copied from my enquires last year) I got 99% positive responses and found the experience quite easy. The worst part was waiting for the thing to arrive on truck!
