Given the millions spent of the development and research into the XR6T. I think that they have specified the correct ratios. I love being able to go from 2nd to 6th when pulling away from  the lights in a 60 km/h zone. I Couldn't imagine being at 1,700 rpm at 100 km/h with a a manual. the drone and harmonics throughout the car would be unbearable...

 

Each to their own, I suppose.... It is your car after all.......

Try to find a GT TR6060 Gaz.
Throw your bell housing on it and perfect.
Long first would make it perfect.

I have 3.73 diff. The first 4 gears are useless. With sticky tyres the first 3.

nice, I've done that before, too, using the input shaft from the gearbox as a alignment tool.

 

edit: fill it through the reverse switch, as that's higher than the fill plug... about 4.5L of oil from memory but just fill it till it weeps out of the reverse switch hole you're filling into.

He has the box out. No need to fill through reverse. 4.5L 

 

I use GW syn 10 full syn. Same as for ZF 6 speed.
