Has anyone staged there twin 044 surge tank? So 1 pump is triggered from the intake pump and the second triggered by the ecu or a hobbs switch?

With both pumps constantly running I could see fuel heating isues?

Haven't yet but will be in the near future.

I have a 4psi hobbs switch I plan to use, or if I refit my eboost2 I will trigger the second pump relay from that.

This setup will be running 2x044's on a stock rail with external reg (B series rail)

One point to consider is both pumps (or at least the secondary pump) will require a check valve to be installed on the out let side so the main pump doesn't bypass fuel back through the pump to the Surge tank/Main tank

I've also been toying with the idea of trigger the second pump off the IMRC solenoid wiring. I need to find out from HPT if the IMRC can be activated in a Turbo strategy. If it can I will be able to set up a single pump P100 tune and Dual Pump 85 tune and use the IMRC solenoid control to switch the relay for the second pump on when the E85 tune is installed

Fuel heating is a real issue with surge tanks , and especially with twin pumps.

Our new Twin 460 Walbro Intank Setup will allow massive fuel for up to 1500 hp and with optional tuneable staging wiring kit should you wish to do so.

However in an Intank set-up, fuel heating is not as much of an issue.
