G'day People

I bought an auto 2009 G6E Turbo 2weeks ago (my first Ford) and Im very impressed!

Ive noticed a couple of problems that are booked in for warranty, Im wondering if any one has had similar problems?

When stopping sometimes (about 60-70% of the time) the car moves forward slightly (a little kick forward when Ive stopped).

This doesnt happen when stopping suddenly only when stopping under normal driving!

Im hoping its not a trans problem as its only done 87000kms!

The other problem is with the stereo controls on the steering wheel.

This is another problem that doesnt happen all the time (sh*ts me though!)

Sometimes when I push the + volume button the radio station or CD song changes!

The - button will increase the volume WTF?

The Seek button will change from radio to CD etc etc!

The blue tooth (phone button) can be a *beep* as well!

Like I said Ive booked the car in for warranty, Im hoping the trans isnt on its way out as Ive been told it cost big bucks for a rebuild!

I didnt purchase the 3 year extended warranty as I was maxed for cash and I had a RAA check that said all was good.

Im loving this car and hoping above is an easy fix?

Any comments would be welcome!

Cheers

Gav

The kick is the change from 2nd-1st. Very common on ZF boxes. Not sure how 'savage' it's supposed to be....

My 2010 has the same issue with the G'box. Guys on here have said tuning can help, gearbox service too.

I spoke to Ford when it went for its 70000k service, all they did was reset the learnt driving style and said see how it goes. A service tech even came for a ride and said he'd never felt it before....

80000k service is coming up, I'll be expecting more than just an ecu reset this time.

You can drive in the tip tronic mode and change gears yourself, when you pull up to stop the box goes to 2nd (no lurch). You have to select first. I can still feel go in to first when I select it manually.

Good luck and let me know how you go :)

Thanks guys.

I will see what they say/do on Monday (warranty).

If its still the same I will have the Trans serviced/looked at in a few weeks.

Hoping the steering wheel control problem is just a loose wire/easy fix!

Cheers

ZF lurch. Pretty standard . Ford can reflash the transmission, they did mine years ago and it made a difference but it still does it on occasions.

This does not happen on my car under normal driving.

It may be a downshift that for some reason has gotten more harsh and noticable due to wear in some components.
