I start the engine and it idles well enough but as soon as I put it into gear the engine light comes on and the power is cut to the engine and I can only start it again by turning the car completely off and starting it again but it still does the same thing.It's a Sunday and even if a mechanic were open I couldn't drive the car there, can anyone offer up some advice as to what I could try looking at? Maccarossi Member 20 Member For: 15y 9m 4d Gender: Male Location: Paynesville Posted 06/07/14 06:00 AM Author Share Posted 06/07/14 06:00 AM Bit of an update, disconnected the battery again, pumped the break and tried to use headlights etc. to discharge completely and then reconnected the battery after about an hour and it's made the problem worse :S Now when I start the car it idles at about 2500RPM (sounds way too high) for about 5 seconds then the engine cuts out.
