Nah - I explained the cop chip as an ongoing joke so he could take part in it - not as an actual thing to set him up for forum ridicule.

Welcome aboard Ferret - hope you enjoy and spend some time here, sharing your car and learning about it

Thank you ms 700 I was just looking for an

honest opinion. Much appreciated.

Mate they generally go a bit better, possibly due to the way they are broken in. Early on kilometres wise, they are "driven", and driven every day. But dont let that worry you, ive got a mate (hard to believe, but I pay him well) and he owns a ex NSW HWP car, and its the best car he has ever owned. Hasnt had a problem with it. Plenty of people are all like "hell no, never buy a cop car, they are thrashed". Well yes they are, but the majority of damage is when they are thrashed, then turned off, which NEVER happens in HWP. They are all serviced to the dot. A lot of HWP cars spend a lot of time cruising on the highway, and seeing that yours is from the south coast, it would have had a easier life than say a Sydney metro car.

Handy thread I love for a primer for those new to the cars wondering what can be done to them

Don't think it's a sticky? MS700?

If I'd found that thread when I was first looking it would have saved me a lot of "newbie" questions and thrown me straight in at the deep end

edit: it may need a slight update but the content is good

nah he seems like a nice bloke, and being a first poster, i took it easy on him in the hope he "may" stick around.

if he had about 30 posts, there would have been cop chips enjoyed by all

You've changed man...the old pink elephant would not have held back. :rockernana:

I agree. My R spec was delivered with a COP chip installed from factory. I also think that the new GT-F has the COP chip to give it extra power.
