The phase III system is approx $9600 installed and tuned and can produce up to 380KW at the wheels for those with a strong drive train and who like drag racing.

Typo Peter???

I know your in a rush at some internet cafe or something but is that 380kw at the wheels or fly? At the wheels is like 430kw from phase 3!!

Can you please confirm this.

Mark

G'day mark,

No its not a typo and I have not been smoking Hooch today, the phase three can produce 380KW at the treads in a higher state of engine tune.

The C and V auto xr6t sedan ran a 11.28 second pass @ 121mph and is currently the quickest xr6t in Australia, and this car is fitted with an APS phase III system which is identical to the one being fitted to your ute. :smilielol:

Of course we dont recommend this state of engine tune for an every day street car and the drive train needs to be upgraded to transmit the high level of torque reliably.

Peter,

Can we have the Phase 3 tuned to diffrent power levels ie 350 rwkw? Is this an extra cost option?

Cheers

Frank

Thanks Peter,

Most helpful and much apprieciated !

One further question, if the series 2 xr6t came out with a better manual box (stronger etc.) would you reccommend me swapping the auto over 4 it? or is the auto box capable of handling the power APS offers in PHASE II and III whilst maintaining reliability?

Customer service and satisfaction is a rare thing these days and the attention you pay to these things are un-matched...

Well done and good luck on future developments as well as the future of APS...

that's my 2cents worth anyways...

Regards,

Chris

Hi Chris, Back in OZ. Now to your questions. This really depends on your application and your likes and dislikes.

A manual trans is always plenty of fun and ideal for club days on the race track, though is a real pain in heavy traffic around town. On the other hand a well sorted auto trans will always be quicker on the drag strip and be easier to live with on a day to day basis.

No doubt our knowledge on the 4 speed auto will increase over the coming months, though only time and further testing will tell if the auto can cope with the phase III torque level over a long period of time and distance.

Hi Frank, If the engine is sound and has good comp and not too much cylinder leak down it is possible to tune the phase III system to 350KW at the treads on a manual trans car.

The APS front mount is huge and provides consistant cold charge air temperature, so with a good supply of 98 ron premium unleaded fuel making this power should not be a problem.

The bigger problem is the drive train, though again this depends on the application.
