Aps Phase III Passes

G'day guys.

Thought you would like to know that we have completed ADR 79/00 emission testing on the APS phase III system and we are pleased to say that we passed with flying colours.

This is significant as it means that the product is STREET LEGAL and satisfies the EPA so that you cant be forced by the NSW and VIC EPA to remove the product from the car.

With proof of ADR 79/00 compliance and a registered engineers report (cost between $500 to $750) this complies to all of the known state authorities requirements and provides complete peace of mind knowing that your investment in performance is protected.

If you guys have any questions on this issue that is on the phase III performance level or emission legality, let me know and I will answer your questions.

that's great to here Peter, cant wait till March.

1/Just on the engineers report whats involved in that process, are we likely to need other mods to make compliance or is it just a question of inspecting that the kit is fitted as it was submitted for compliance testing?

2/ On the Phase lll what is the final rwkw?

3/ I have noticed that the guys running the Xede say that the vehicle has to crank longer when starting is this also the case with the unichip?

Thanks Again Peter

Congratulations Peter, A great result that shows everyone here that all of your testing and R&D dollars have paid off. We may have to wait a little while for the release of some of your products, but it's results like this that prove it's worth the wait.

Peter, well done, one thing to get the grunt, another to keep it green, I imagine. I have mates with LS1's with performance increases (not quite like this !!) that were unable to find Engineers to certify their mods due to rules regarding the drivetrain not being up to the job, I guess from the other posts that people are investigating different boxs etc because of a percieved problem. How do the engineers get around these rules ? Again, well done, not trying to put a damper on it all, just a question.

The engineers report is quite a straight foward deal, the vehicle is tested to ensure that any mods made to the car dont impact on road safety.

For instance if the engineer felt that the brakes were inadequate for the power level after he concluded brake testing it may be neccessary to fit

improved rotors and brake pads to satisfy the engineer.

This is an example of what engineers look for when providing a engineers report, though most modern cars do not require any brake upgrade for an engineers report.

The final power output is on the APS web site and a manual 5 speed car produces approx 330Kw at the treads on the APS dyno dynamics dyno at 13 PSI of turbo pressure.

The UNICHIP starts as quickly as the stock car does I am not sure why the xede needs additional cranking before the engine fires (I have a suspicion) though this would be better answered by others, as its not my position to comment on other brands of product. Hope this answers all of your questions.

Great to know some of you guys appreciate the effort that APS goes to in order to protect our customers from the LAW.

Its obvious that state G"ments dont want modified performance cars on the road (this really p#$%es me off big time) So I take great pleasure in proving that the modified engine continues to comply to the relevant ADR emission standard.

Whilist APS proves continued compliance to the ADR 79/00 rule for the PHASED systems theres not much that the EPA or road traffic authorities can do to DEFECT the car or force removal of the performance products from the car. :innocent:

I guess you guys now better understand my passion for proving emission compliance, it really gets under the skin of the enemy. :banghead:

Peter, what about the engineers report and durability issues ?
