Hi guys,

Just picked up my brand new G6E Turbo a couple of days ago and was looking into installing a HID kit for the low beams. Has anyone done this yet? What problems did you encounter, and any tips or suggestions?

Note: I don't want to hear anyone whinge about putting HIDs in! :P

Thanks in advance guys!

I put them in my mk1

I know different headlight but all seem to be a pretty basic install as I've done a few on different cars

only problem I had with this in a mkii was getting the globe to stay in place with the retaining clip as my globe was not the right size/shape for the clip. Hot glued it in place in the end

Just projector lenses matty, can still use regular bulbs, high intensity discharge is just a different type of lamp, similarly you could put a hid in a reflector lens.

Haha I know barnz

I was just saying Ford should have made them HIDs from the factory

I love HIDs not as much as LEDs but I'm fascinated by them

Projectors use the light more efficiently because they focus the beam, a reflector spreads it all out. 35w is all you need especially in a projector with HID. They are a good design, as long as they are set up properly. I had hid in reflectors and to be honest it was sh*te. They suit projectors great though. I made my own retaining clips out of wire, wasn't too hard.
