Triples are a *beep* to tune perfect. Done all this with crossflow motors. We stuck with 650DP holley instead with NOS. I dont see what is so hard on doing a carby version? Modding a inlet monifold would be the biggest issue I could see and the VCT but should be doable. Good luck with it and keep us posted.

ive costed up an LS1 conversion for for that kind of money id rather build a BMW engine. plus the clearence for the headers isnt enough to clear the steering box.

and im not anti-boost im just pro N/A. its more satisfying building tough N/A car. im pretty set on 3 webers too. purely for the crazy fuel consumption, crappy reliability and the sound.. ohh the sound. the power and tourque figures to come from these carbies is pretty impressive also.

Fair enough mate. It sounds like you know what you want and just need some advice to get the ball rolling. I will leave my smart as comments aside and wish you the best of luck. By the sounds of it, it doesn't sound easy.

Off to google host car to see what it is your attempting to build.

The JZ will never have the low end power that the Barra does.

Good luck with your project mate but I'd get a AU Motor that SOHC sound is just so much

gruntier and with those carbs it will sound more like a hotrod

How are you going to go about mating the triple webers upto the intake runners on the head

obvious EFI delete lunacy aside, it would sound pretty freaking awesome through a set of triples.

Im died in the wool EFI so I would gt ITB's with an air/helmhotz resonator box. That noise would make mother teresa moist.

It will fit no problems.

May need a scoop on the bonnet to fit the ring for the venturi gas ring etc, but shouldn't be an issue.

As per your first question - "What should I do the to engine prior to fitting"

My answer is - lube it up and make sure it fits where the sun doesn't shine

I don't have any idea of what weight oil you should use for that (no prior experience), but I'm sure that by trial and error you'll find a blend that is just right.

If you've done it enough before then you can switch to full synthetic, but most people wait for about the third oil change to make sure the rings are bedded in - am sure by now your ring is well worn so it shouldn't be an issue.

Pics though - the forum loves pics

Last issue you could face is the diff bushes - no matter what car you put the donk in - make sure u check out the bush

I used to love my ol 250 cross flow when the secondaries would open and that sound..... Friggin awesome and the looks from those LS1 VX clubbys when my old XP falcon would trump them.....Priceless.

They would say, Whats the hells in that and I would say, A dirty old six mate... :wwww:

I miss playing with carby sixes but good luck with it.

Dont they do Barra industrial versions of these engines? Are they carby?
