From the Shockworks section over on AFF:

"We now have kits for the BA through to FG utes using the sedan fronts and the adjustable rear dampers.
The front adjustable dampers come complete with new alloy top mounts, springs and base height adjustable.
They sell for $1700 using the existing rear leaf or for the Herrod leaf spring add $850."
The full sedan kit is $2,000.

Yep they were $2k plus $80 shipping to Perth. A good few hundred cheaper than Teins.

I had them set softer than I thought, 6 front 5 rear, adjusted them up a bit now 8/10 front 7/10 rear, very firm ride now but not jarring, and it's even sharper in corners. Bloody impressive, you would not believe this is an 1800kg car. Under hard braking the car feels completely solid.

Am seriously considering heading this way myself.

Should have a decent tax return to cover the handling improvements on the car this year which will pretty much finish everything I was looking to do to get the car how I want it.

Is there anything else (suspension wise) that should be done at the same time that I should be looking to budget for to make sure I knock it all over with the one session?

(Thought I'd jump in this thread instead of starting another)

Spent about 40 minutes talking to Brett from Shockworks this arvo. What a great bloke.

He'd just got off the plane from China with very little sleep but was more than happy to talk shop and share his (wealth of) knowledge and experience.

Anyway, I'm sold. Ordering a set off him tomorrow and install them next week. Got a feeling I'm not going to be disappointed.

Ride height of around 345mm - 350mm HTG is where it's at for best performance and pretty much where I want it without being stupidly low.

Rab - from what I understand, there's no need to do anything else (ie bigger swaybars)

Cheers

I sent an email off to him last night - don't think he'll need to do much to sell me on them - the reviews/feedback I've been seeing have pretty much done the work for him :)

Will give him a call in a few days if I haven't heard back (give him a chance to unwind/unpack etc from his trip)

I put the teins in mine earlier this year and I'd have to agree with JET, they are brutal on the road. Smooth Tarmac roads are very bumpy things. In saying that, they are so amazingly good at the same time. No more lean, sticks to the road like glue and the feel of the car at speed, good speed is incredible.

Had to crop out front cos plate and iPhone :(

It depends on which spring rate kit you order. They have 2 models. We have the heavy spring kit and I agree its a bit harsh on the street. I reckon the softer version would be perfect for a daily.

I have the Tein's with EDFC in my BA F6... I'm not sure if it's the heavy or soft kit, but on the softest damping setting it's like rolling in a soft suspension car (read: comfortable even on harsh roads) and on the hardest setting it is like a track car, you feel all of the little tiny bumps. I love them!

It's also quite possible that I enjoy a bumpy ride, too, due to the outright performance you get from them... for me, the trade-off is always worth it!
