Has anybody modded there FG turbo or upgraded and running Herrod Cai and PW stepped intercooler?

Like to hear what turbo mods you have done and other supporting mods.

I'm interested in rwkw it made and MPH speed if you have run it down the quarter

And general opinions on thoughts.

Thanks

Kind of an opened ended question... What do you mean by modded?

Heaps of people running stepped coolers and getting good results. If you're planning on anything over about 400 I'd suggest change to a turbo side intake ( hint hint ;) ) and when running a full exhaust port your flapper or go external

Which is why I ask what are you asking? What are you trying to achieve? Will give me more chance to lead you in the right direction. Stepped cooler is still a good cooler unless you plan on going full on built engine the works, then going to kevs stage 3 would be the go.

At that power level you basically need parts that will support you upto 450rwkw anyway man.

Definitely turbo side intake, full exhaust (4 inch) valve springs, 1000cc injectors, you MIGHT get away with your cooler.. Surge tank or big intank and GTX, 6235,6466,mta750/900 are all bolt on T3 turbos. Will be good for an easy 400 on 98/450+ E85 8)

Yeh that's why I didn't want to put down a set rwkw goal in the question.

I was more interest to see results people might of had with upgraded turbo and those two supporting mods in particular.

My car is running 310rwkw with obviously stepped cooler, Herrod Cai, ID 1000's and Venom high flow cat.

Valve springs are going to be done next month and form foundation to turbo, exhaust mods and fuel system.

Hey mate

I was running herrod cai and a Pw stage 2 on e85 at 413rwkw on 18psi with my billet wheeled 3540

Now up to 440 with 20 psi and turbo side

The herrod unit is ok but you'll outgrow the sound (or lack there of) and go a turbo side pretty quickly

I wish I did turbo side first but oh well you live and you learn

It was at 363 on 98 with the herrod cai but I haven't had it tuned yet with the turbo side. I expect around 380 on 98

Long story short

Go turbo side

Go the biggest cooler you can afford

And to get a good turbo you don't need to spend crazy dollars

The stepped will go 400 on e85 pretty easily and so will the herrod cai

But there is a lot less restriction and much more induction noise with turbo side

Oh and I went with the stock turbo/fuel pump on e85 with the herrod cai, 4inch dump and cat 3 1/2 cat back, Id 1000s and a single spinner 11.8 at 121mph
