While I'm derailing this topic, is there a way to visually to know (without removing and testing) whether or not the valve springs are aftermarket?

I ask as I do not know with my F6X as the previous owner didn't mention it. I would assume they are standard being the fact the little huffer is still fitted but If there was a visual indicator it would obviously save me allot of money!

F6X came with the big turbo like all B series. Only cars with the small one are FG XR6T and G6ET.

Wish that were true unfortunately F6X has small comp wheel. Both diff ratios in F6X were also changed from TT's 4.1 to 3.46

Lid was off today changing a broken guide so had a look at how my second set of cams are going - all good.

Engine was clean as a whistle inside :)

^^^ yep tick tick tick sounded like something was going around with the belt. Stopped after about 10 seconds (cold start up) and didn't present again.

Very loud tick though? I ask as I'm sure a mates FG did this when he had his valve springs done and it was gone after 5 mins though and from memory it was loud, allot louder than injectors for instance...

Mine broke in the exact same place and I had no idea. There was a small rattle on cold start that went for less than a second. I thought it was lifters but it doesn't seem to do that anymore so I assume that's what that sound was.

Edit: Bomber, how many Kms are on your engine and has it been rebuild before? It looks ridiculously clean :)
