Guys, the car goes in Tuesday next week then I'll finally have some time to send one of the old cams off to arronm.

I will say this regarding the oil theory. Not all lobes had issues. Inlet cam worse than exhaust. The engine also had valve float.

If I remotely thought it was oil related I'd swap but I don't.

Look I wasn't blaming synthetics!!!

To me it looks like a hardening issue or lack of hardness even if what I said is true about the roller skidding!

I was just trying to make sense of what I see.its just speculation!

It's a goddam roller cam, there should be no reason why the lobe should be breaking down with a roller going over it coated in oil (any oil).

Flat tappet cams cop heaps more abuse and have a lot harder time.

Just about any oil these days is better than the best oil you could get 30 years ago!

Metallurgy has made leaps and bounds as well.

If somebody wants to put synthetic in his engine every 5000ks and he can wear the cost then that's great.

I think the oil argument is overrated!

Like I said , I use them all depending on application.

As for my FG I will use a semi synthetic and drop it every 10000ks. Shorter intervals I'd use a good mineral and longer a full synthetic.

Just my 2cents worth!

Just sayin the full syn and mystery cam wear stacks up nicely........

Wonder if ford has a reason they recommend semi lol

I love to giggle

Semi might be fine for 200rwkw, but it wont like the extra loads ( bearing wise) that 20psi and 400rwkw asks of the oil.

With all the extra heat, the semi just wont perform as well. And that a FACT.....

"Theory" aside the "facts" are saying otherwise currently

Would not be the first time theory's have not held up to facts ......
