Re " I haven't fitted an oil cooler, car is stock. Does it come with one stock? "

Your Car's Engine Oil-Cooler System/ Unit is between the Oil Filter and Engine Block if I am not wrong.

I am in Perth and I know that during the hotter days like this recent week, the oil temp sits at 85 degrees. OR so Torque says so with that equation.

do you really need an accurate reading? your dashboard does not provide an accurate reading.

It provides a reference so you know when your car is hot or cold.

I use that equation and the figures that are displayed on the screen are for reference purposes only for me.

If the car gets hot, then I know it and I can do something about it.

Is there any specific reason for having accurate readings?

Some readings are good but accurate is better don't you think?

I am wondering about Torque, getting caution icy audio messages on a 20 degree morning is a bit odd. But then again I was driving on the thermal explorer highway.

Thinking of getting the ELM327 but not sure if I could get the WiFi one or the Bluetooth one. I already run a handsfree kit over Bluetooth in my BA - so was wondering if it will have interference issues if I also try to run the Bluetooth version of the ELM327 - especially on the same Android smartphone. Anyone have any experience with running Bluetooth handsfree kits whilst using Torque with the Bluetooth version of the ELM327? Thanks :beerchug:

I got the Bluetooth of my phone connected to the ford ICC Bluetooth for phone calls.

I got the phone connected to the Bluetooth OBD link MX. (http://www.scantool.net/obdlink-mx.html)

I also got the vivosmart watch connected via Bluetooth without issues.

I think the limit is 4/5 devices because of the stack overflow.

Gaz, I use an app called Bluetooth auto connect to set priority of connections and limit services by devices. Helps stop the phone confusing the ELM for an Audio device.

Also allows you to auto launch an APP when BT connects. Very handy
