Basically you need to add in the ford custom PID. I m pretty sure that there is a FORD PID in there that can already read that.

If it is not right for you, then you will need to edit that PID.

I have been thinking about the EOT formulae a lot lately and I am not sure if we really need an exact temp. The problem is find an accurate source to compare with for our formulae.

To be honest I am not even sure how accurate forscan is.

I am not sure where I read this, as it may be in this thread, but for any impurities in the oil to be burnt, the temp needs to be about 119 degrees.

If this is the case and forscan is showing 97 degrees then it is well below 119 degrees.

With that in mind, I am sure that the built in gauge on the dashboard is more accurate to use as a reference, when the car has reached operating temperature.

Once the car has reached normal operating temperature, we can use what ever number is shown in Torque as a reference to what normal temp is.

This is the formulae I have been using since AUGUST:

(((A*256+B)(10)(.5))/10000)

I made changes to the formulae I got from the website ( http://beta.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=1586732 ) and came up with the above.

When I first used it, the normal operating temperature of the car, returned a value of 137.x

Over the last couple of months I have seen this increase to 144.x depending on how hot the day is.

Is this an acceptable level of temperature or would that fry the oil(if it were a true representative value of temperature)?

Thanks, I looked through the whole thread and I couldn't find anything regards to the Boost Adjustment settings when you edit your vehicles profile.

I added and I am using the Ford PID

It's in the options under 'Current Fuel Level' and it says:

Boost adjustment (usually -14.7, 0 or 14.7 (atmospheric pressure adjustment at sea level).

I left it as 0 but it seems to be reading a bit high, what have others used?

mine is at 0 and the dial reads ok

I use the Turbo Boost & Vacuum Gauge, not the ford specific boost gauge

tried using this formulae, was reading 56 degrees when cold, so I don't think that's right

did some comparisons with EOT and SCT x3/forscan/torque(barnz formulae)

engine semi warm

x3 forscan torque

48C 48C 64C

all monitored within about 1 minute of each other

so Forscan would be pretty accurate then. I thought that it may have been out and reading incorrectly.

I assumed wrong....

you would assume that the sct x3 would be accurate. but I only took one reading of each.

whose to say that cold or hot the x3 and forscan readings would be the same.

I'll check it out when I can and report back. its just alot of mucking around switching between the two
