Since then after driving the car for a bit I can smell coolant from outside the car.Just wondering if there is any common causes I can quickly check? I haven't noticed any leaks since the reseal. I figured maybe they spilled coolant doing the timing cover and the smell was just residue burning off, but 4 weeks later I doubt it.I could not smell it before the reseal.Thankyou. And your leaking coolant and having to top up reservoir. Don't know if it would in the g6 with the puddle but your heater core might be gone best way to check is to take heater hoses off and block them off if stops leaking it heater core mine went so I blocked it off till I get time off work to book it in its a 2004 turbo they are pretty common to go in my model so now I run with no heater sux in the morning but better then having to top up every 3rd day.

I can only smell the coolant from outside the car.It appears to be coming from above the bellhousing but still haven't been able to pinpoint exactly where yet. Mine is leaking from the right side and my bellhousing is a pretty pink and green rainbow :D

I hope I'm wrong for your sake. What I did with mine is take all the shielding off, wash all the coolant off with water and ran a cooling system pressure test. After about 15 minutes coolant started to show around the offending parts of head gasket.
