It even caused the drivers visor to vibrate in its clip !!I did collect a pot hole a few days ago with the rear drivers side wheel, so I am hopeful that it might be related to that ie lost weight off the wheel throwing the balance out, though my gut feel unfortunately is it might be the tail shaft. Would be very appreciative if you guys could provide some thoughts on this matter before I put the beast in for its 15k service. Thanks in advance WhiteTee

(been back 3 times)Suspect a drive train prob, tailshaft?? I wonder if this has caused my diff to whine under load?15000 km service this will so I'll be telling the dealer I don't want the car back until vibration and diff fixed. Will let you know if they find anything.Might also suggest to them that the "premium sound" is not premium to my partners AU1 standard system,I should not complain as these are the only real probs I've had....so far. Rob (saleen1) has hit many a pot hole, and I dont think his rig has a vibration it.... im sure he will confirm! Maybe chuck on a spare and go for a fang? Or even better still, borrow somebody's spare 17in/18in wheel and tyre and go for a fang? You can use one of my 17's next time you are in the area. davef Member 42 Member For: 21y 2m 8d Posted 01/02/04 07:41 AM Share Posted 01/02/04 07:41 AM I have had a similar problem since Day 1. Dealer has adjusted the rear door (how dumb is that) and adjusted the tailshaft but still no resolution.Currently I am waiting for a tailshaft balancer to be delivered to the dealer so that he can rebalance more precisely. I have heard there is only one in the country!!Apparantly there is a huge waiting list for this, so there must be a lot of people with similar problems. One of the other dealers sent his back the day before I phoned him. How unlucky was that? Can't find out who has got it right now. just have to wait I guess

JIMBO Member 38 Member For: 21y 11m 28d Location: Sydney Posted 01/02/04 11:47 AM Share Posted 01/02/04 11:47 AM Try the mandatory wheel balance/rotation and see how it goes, if there is a problem with the rims it should be picked up then. Based on what you say though "seems to come from the rear and at 100-120ks" you may require the tail shaft balance.jimbo

Hey Julian, that seems like a good idea. I had a vibration from new but mine was one badly balanced tyre from factory, re-balanced & presto.Scotty
Henry Member 180 Member For: 21y 11m 29d Gender: Not Telling Posted 02/02/04 01:52 AM Share Posted 02/02/04 01:52 AM Gday GuysYep I am the one Brian is talking about.Between 100-135 kmh I have a vibration through the car. While not severe, it is crook over more than half an hour of driving. You get it through the seats and floor and the doors if you have your arm up there.I have had the problem since day 1, April 2003.3 new rims, tail shaft balanced 3 times, tail shaft fully rebuilt once, but no resolution.Get this: Last week I take Stuart (withhold his last name at this point) the regional Fomoco rep out on the M5 for the 2nd time. He says, "I think its worse than the first time" "Yep, I can see you would find this almost numbing over distance" "Dont know what it is" I explained to him that I had no time and now did not want the car back until it was fixed."Sure Greg, I will tell Bob (wont mention his name as he is service manager at one of the site sponsors) not to return it until he is satisfied it is fixed and if I am in the area I will drive it myself before giving it back to you."3 days pass, no word. Phone Fomoco "relationship centre" and spoke to Damien. "Stuart reckons the car is acceptable." "will change the rims and tyres over from a known good car as an act of goodwill."We then debated on who was lying about what was actually said. Well Damien I have the balls to put my version up on the net. What have u got?In conclusion, I sincerely wish any of you who have this problem the best of luck. Ford have a problem with more than 1 car. If any of you get a resolution that is not tailshaft related please let me know.In the meantime, Stuart and Damien, the ball is in your court and Fair Trading are coming your way!!!
