If you come to Lakeside this Sunday and pay $30 you can join in our cruise sessions and give the car a test before PowerCruise.

Well I called old mate who called old mate but apparently he doesn't have a tool for doing the springs with the head on. A quick google and I can see what he's on about. Hes just a small engine mechanic so I guess pulling heads off isn't much of a hassle for him.

So is it a tool specific to our cars or just one of those ones that bolts onto the head somewhere? Butt Plug? Anybody? Just trying to help a brother out.

Barnz thanks for the offer to help out .and yes the tool needed for this job is a special one .they sell for about $400 same money someone will install them .but I will track one down

,there would be shops on the coast that would have one .the big problem is that there is no more money in the bank account left for springs .

bomber ,thanks for the invite .will most likely come down on sunday ,sounds like the plan .I still have not lifted the bonnet of the car to see how he put the car back together .the things I

noticed when I picked it up will take some time to get back how I had it done myself (like the cold side piping kit is not lining up correctly ) etc .but I will get there in the end

have ok news ,the automatic is not as bad as the auto shop thought . there were traces of parts in the filter that indicate that it was hot but believes that it is still ok .

but now concerned about the engine oil pressure . when hot it used to sit at about 20 psi at idle ,but now it sits at only about 12 psi ? I did notice on a dyno run that he had displayed

on the screen that the rpm were past 6500 rpm , I thought why would he try to get it to rev that hard with faulty valve springs ? I was tolled that the oil gears do not like high rpm .

might be that the big ends are on there way out if there is low oil pressure as well (only at idle ) is it low but still not sure why it would drop 8 psi

Well that's some good news atleast mate. The oil pressure is a bit of a worry and yeah turning an engine that hard with known valve spring issues is stupidity.

I fail to see why anyone who knows these cars spins them this far, it shows complete lack of knowledge about the 4.0

Imho your running the wrong oil for this engine, but what would I know ....
