genuine honest person Member 2,769 Member For: 10y 9m 20d Gender: Male Location: near brisbane Posted 24/07/14 11:55 AM Author Share Posted 24/07/14 11:55 AM just took my girlfriend for a drive ,was all good for about half hour .but after I gave it full boost in first and second , she said the ute scares her and is not happy to drive it no more .lol .it was only a little sideways . it definitely hooks up better with the tray on it ,but still slippery in the rear under execration .now I might need the extra 50 rwkw .jake (work mate )is going to toowoomba to get his tune done ,and he reckons I could easily have it tuned to about 350 rwkw .but that would cost me about $700-$800 for a re tune .might going to get it done before powercruise . now that the car is just about back together I can drive it and see if the power is enough or not ,and decide after I get used to driving it . 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
genuine honest person Member 2,769 Member For: 10y 9m 20d Gender: Male Location: near brisbane Posted 25/07/14 09:47 PM Author Share Posted 25/07/14 09:47 PM last night went to auto one car show at kawana ,and showed my ute for the first time .had a lot of lookers .there comments ranged from ,why would you bother to wow awesome . there were even some of the guys there that I soled parts of the wrecked sedan I got all the turbo conversion from .ps the diff that is out of the sedan has still not been picked up ,it is a free give away for anyone that would like it (lsd ba sedan diff including cradle and brakes 3.46 ratio )it has 108000 klm traveled .the guy that wanted it does not reply to my messages no more ,and I just want it gone .thanks again for the help kimberley gave to me on a saturday to take it out .he would have traveled all up about 3 hours just to help me out .and now the guy is just not interested ? after auto one I went for a drive ,but I just can not get used to the power it has .its just not smooth at all .no mater what I do I just can not get of the ute of the line without the tyres to loose traction from 40 klm onwards .all it is just wheel spin .the power is just so savage ,just like getting hit by a sledge hammer .getting the Yokohama's fitted today at 2 pm with a wheel alignment ,that may help a little .I have also noticed that it might even suffers from a bitt of axle tramp passenger side tyre must loose traction . its hard to tell ,as I just can not find a suitable place to drive the ute the way I could on a drag strip . 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

genuine honest person Member 2,769 Member For: 10y 9m 20d Gender: Male Location: near brisbane Posted 26/07/14 10:07 AM Author Share Posted 26/07/14 10:07 AM they said that the actuator would not hold the flapper shut at higher revs ,but it seems ok at the moment .do not get me wrong I love wheel spin ,and lots of it . got the new Yokohama 818 tyres fitted today .when I went up there to get them fitted I thought what could possibly go wrong .on arrival I said to the sales rep that the key only works in the ignition ,not the door as I had to change the ignition barrel .my girlfriend and myself went to the shopping sender to have a look around .about half hour later I got a phone call that they accidentally locked the car door and unable to open it ,I said to them what did I say before I left the key only works in the ignition .so all my house keys were locked inside of the ute .we went back jumped into there Late model camira wagon and traveled back to caloundra (about 35 min drive each way ) luckily I know how to enter a house without braking glass (I am a glazier ) so I could get the old ignition key that opens the driver side door lock . lol this car is definitely the same as Christine the movie .when I finely got back home and got out of the car I noticed on the roof near the door some scratch marks where the must have tried to unlock the ute . ps the tyres do feel that they are going to grip better than the old nankangs that were on the ute when I bought it also the diff is going tomorrow .a guy looked at my sign on the road that the diff is free ,and asked if he could pick it up .he only lives down the road of me .do not know how he is going to make it work in a old lj torana fitted with a 308 v8 .but I do not care its gone Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

genuine honest person Member 2,769 Member For: 10y 9m 20d Gender: Male Location: near brisbane Posted 28/07/14 08:36 AM Author Share Posted 28/07/14 08:36 AM yes mate its lots of fun ,and now that the tyres give me more confidence its a lot easier to drive .ps harries dinner may not happen this friday ,but maybe saturday .I will keep you posted mate. just came back from a good drive ,and I can not see that it has 869 nm.its not as fast as I hoped it would be .when I have traction and it hooks up it does push you back into the seat ,but I believe it is not a 12 second car more like a 13 second .it feels like it lacks about 50 rwkw .going to have to get it retuned .just not before powercruise (run out of money ) bugger I wanted over 300 rwkw ,it just feels slow now that I got used to it .still lots of wheel spin in first but way better with the new tyres ,I had 32 psi in them going to let them down to about 29 -28 psi and see how they go . 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
