Mate im all for the things you want to do, but ffs if your pulling the donk reshell again to a non one tonne xr6 ute. Bigger brakes better tyres ect....

Also if it was me for the turbo I would go the PT6235

I just love the sleeper thing mate ,its just so much fun .the tyres are not to bad at the moment , they actually hook up ok . there is 50% tread left after 5000km. I would just run a small 300 rwkw tune for the street and the bigger tune for the strip .so I can use the semi slicks. the brakes would be ok if they would not shutter after they get hot . honestly you will have to come for a ride in it .just to see the peoples faces when the realise it is not a standard old xt one tonne falcon . yes I know why did I not just buy a new car before I done the last mods . but then when I drive it I love it every time . the ute is like me (as But plug said )I am a old *beep* and so is the ute ,so we are a perfect match . just hope the engine does not have a heart attack

Well willwood make big brakes that fit behind 16 inch rims. That will cost you a large portion of your 15k though.

You can't even run ba premiums or the bf-fg 322's. Brake options are limited.

Biggest OEM brakes you can get without going to brembos are the ones on my car, but you have to have a 17" front wheel, can still keep it sleeper by using some 17" falcon wheels though ;). Slotted will operate better at higher temps because they clear some of the gasses that build up between the pad and rotor and bigger rotors dissipate heat better due to the extra disk, plus give a bit more force (think stopping a bicycle wheel by grabbing the hub, then again but grabbing the tyre). Ive got EBC red's after I was talked out of getting yellows for the street which im really happy with. The bed-in process on their webpage was 10 quick 100-20km/h stops in succession, drive for 5-10mins and do it again. They handled that without any fade and stopping power wise mine can EASILY over-power the tyres at any speed ive tried with the abs off so I wouldnt get too hung up on something like brembo's and put that money into the rest of the next part of your build. I believe its just get bigger rotors and a different caliper bracket.

I did get them to fade the other week chasing down a bike on the way down from springbrook but didnt lose any pedal so the pads were getting too hot. Next set of pads I'll be getting yellows but I'd imagine even the reds would be more than up for the task at an event like powercruise.

.. and get a 6466 :3gears::wwww:

Gees guys we're not throwing out the anchor on a 50 ton sub here.

Slotted rotors, braid lines and red pads for steelies that'll do !!!

OW!

Hooray for Sugar Cane !!!

started my new project ,FG turbo engine and 6 speed manual . might have to start by taking the old engine out . bugger that is the part I hate ,working on the car . na all good ,love it .

so what are the best engine mods to do ,like which springs work well for 450 rwkw and what oil pump gears to buy .do I need a twin row timing chain (atomic ) . thanks for any advise

Talk to Jamie mate, honestly he should really be be sorting out the finer details from here now you have a direction. He's tuning it at may have a preference on things. Sort out what clutch you want and just drop it all off to him.

Fg donk needs an engine mount moved, dipstick re drilled pan changed and oil pickup moved which requires un torquing a main cap. Fg also has 2 knock sensors and ba has one. Talk to him about doing it, he will probably look after you on little bits and bobs cheaper than you can get them if he's charging quite a bit of labor.

If you could pick up a bf turbo loom and pcm you could run the dual knock sensors and proper dual phase vct. Without double checking I'm not sure if bcm would need to be changed by icc cluster ect should be fine.

Then you could sell a complete motor/box conversion

Actually that's probably more trouble than its worth, probably have to track down the correct abs module N sh*te again....
