Your not wrong jet, and I hope old Rodney doesn't want to come say hello at any time for that matter.. But everyone using e85 full time will face this same fear whether it's in tank or on a surge tank, unfortunately that's just how it is...

I'm just sharing my short experience so far (13hrs 34mins)

Yeh but whats "actually" failed and whats been attached to half a billion 6T's for the past 5 years sucking e85 and clocking up x10 that hr base

that's the difference .....

I see where your coming from and I'm not arguing those statistics, just showing that their is now another approach to the 6t fuel system..

It seems as though you've had a bad experience? Perhaps you could pm me?

All ill say is I tried to help, and if yours fails the rest WILL be history, but please record your hr usage because it will be comical

Anyone thought if its a hr based on use or the pump being subjected to e85, I mean its sitting there all night long slowly rotting, I mean "valid wearing"away

Now that deserves a "warranty"

and whos to say that this wont happen with these pumps?

I get some people have a personal preference or maybe a professional relationship with suppliers they have to maintain but I dont think you can use teething issues that have been sorted as a comparison

Im sure when surges first hit the market they werent perfect either

How do Expensive Daewoo warrant the use of e85 in there SS, Sv6, Captiva? Just curious

Expensive Daewoo utilise, a brand of fuel pump that is manufactured specific to E85. This pump is not commercially available unless purchased complete with the standard module.

As mentioned previousely, we have tested many pumps and all manufacturers shy away from calling them E85 lifetime specific. This is why the reputable brands have a running time recommendation on them.

To say "mine has never failed" shows an ignorance on understanding the corrsiveness of E85 on internal components of pumps made intially for petrol use.

For a company to recommend them beyond 500 hrs on this logic is also misleading as it goes against manufacturers recomendations and therefore warranty.

We are only just starting to see actual ethanol dedicated fuel pumps , with ethanol resitant internals, being released after several years of structured field testing.

Many of the problems have stemmed from the inconsistancy of E85 from pump to pump, state to state, and country to country. We have seen this with fuel pumps as well as non Petrol/ E85 specified injectors eg 2000cc. Some last forever, other fail prematurely.

Bosch does not clasify any fuel pump currantly sold in Australia as a lifetime E85 pump. This includes the 044 that is sold with 500 hours of E85 compatability.

We are now very close to securing a tested and fully warrantable E85/Petrol dedicated fuel Pump that we will utilise and recommend in all our systems.
